Tours
Our tour company Sicklebill Safaris is based at Cassowary House. We offer small group and private tours around our local area, across Australia and further afield. Advance reservations are advised to avoid disappointment as at certain times of the year the guides can get very busy.
We have a number of ready-made general bird and wildlife tours designed to be taken from Cassowary House. These range from !/2 days around Cairns city sites to full day trips around the local area and even a few days accommodated trips away. We can offer something for everyone. Click here for a full list of the local area tours available. Most of these tours are costed from Cairns and if you are staying at Cassowary House a lower rate may apply. Please enquire about group rates.
Customised Tours
Prices will vary depending on what is wanted but the standard basic trip starts from AU$435.00 a day.
Special Interests - We are happy to customize tours for individuals with particular interests. While their primary love is birds our guides are good all round naturalists with a keen interest in all aspects of natural history. Examples of special interest tours that we have run in the past are dragonflies, frogs and specific bird families.
Target species – We are happy to devise itineraries based on target species.
Photographers – We recognize that photographers have different needs to the general birder and are happy to devise itineraries with photographers in mind. Two of our guides are keen photographers themselves so have a good understanding of what is required.
